My family is a little on the large side... I am one of 5 children, as is my mum, and her sisters followed in her footsteps. So as you can guess, there’s a lot of news to keep up with! So, every Christmas, along with the obligatory Christmas Cards, we send a family letter out to everyone to let them all know what’s been happening in our lives that year.
It’s not Christmas, but it was our first birthday here in the Brewery on the 4th April, so I thought that for this month’s Newsletter, we should update our little brewing family (that’s you by the way!) on our first year here in Richmond!
As you all probably know, our illustrious leaders, Pete and Chris, bought the Brewery in April 2013 and since then, I think everything that can have happened has pretty much happened!
There have been staff changes , changes of brewer, the logo changed, we got a snazzy new website, some beautiful new beery merchandise and most importantly got 3 beautiful beers into permanent production.
Station Ale – 4.0% ABV
Named after the home of our brewery, Richmond Station is a refreshing, golden coloured beer in the English bitter style. With a clean, crisp bitterness and subtle fruit and floral aromas, it has a smooth, light body.
Stump Cross – 4.7%
An amber coloured ale with a sweet, malty flavour and aromas of citrus and toffee. A beer with real depth of flavour.
Swale Ale – 3.7%
A very drinkable dark brown ale with a smooth, roasted coffee flavour and a light body and bitterness.
We’ve been working really hard on getting the name of Richmond Brewing Company out there and have attended loads of beer festivals, farmers markets, and events across the county. It seems to be paying off; we’re even getting invited to events, rather than having to bribe people to let us come!
So, now we’re officially in our second year and planning lots for the future. We hope to be developing some summer specials over the next few months so keep an eye out for those at local pubs. We’ve got loads more events, beer festivals and shows that we are attending, all detailed on our events page, and here at the Brewery, we’re continuing to do special offers for locals and visitors alike.
Over our Birthday weekend, we offered cask ale on tap for the first time and introduced a 15% discount for CAMRA members. We got some great responses from everyone who visited the brewery, which we decorated for the occasion, and we even commissioned an amazing cake from our friend Mayummy, which was delicious!
On the newsletter front, over the next few months we’ll be doing some profiles on some of the places around the local area where you can find our beer either in bottles or Cask, starting with Richmond, of course, in the May edition.
Also if anyone has any ideas for articles they’d like to see in the newsletter or on the website, just drop us an e-mail (enquiries@richmondbrewing.co.uk). Or you could write us an article and we’d be happy to [publish them online, following editor approval of course!
We hope you keep subscribing and keep reading and thank you for supporting us through our first year.
